Cappies
The television show Cappies started in 2009 and is repeated every year very succesfully. The show aires with Dutch tv network TROS.
The word Cappies is created by combingin the words handiCAP and CAPability. Cappies is a very festive familyshow. The programme is initiated by the Lucille Werner Foundation. The Foundation colaborates with NSGK and the TROS. With Cappies we want to public to know, that children with a disability can enroll in every day life, just like anybody else. The 5 finalists show, with an act on stage, their capabilities and the talent they are proud of.
In 2009 Cappies was won by Pien van de Rest, she convinced the audience with a beautiful song. In 2010 Sander was the winner of the programme, by performing a dutch song 'Kon ik nog maar bij je zijn.' Cappies 2011 was won by Glenn Nugteren, with a breathtaking performance on his magic flute. The winners of the show do not only receive a stunning trophy, the also receive the opportunity to make a difference in childrens lives, with becoming a child ambassador for the NSGK for one year.
CAP100
Lucille Werner Foundation (LWF) works on positive representation for people with a physical disability. One of her projects is CAP100. The goal of this project is to train and motivate 100 people with a disability and prepare them for a new job. Their main goal is to change the perception of hiring and working with people with a disability in work organizations. Every BODY is needed!
The project was launched in November 2010. A year later, November 2011, they have guided 60 talents to a new job. CAP100 is supported by 10 multinationals, who actively promote and aid CAP100 within their company and their network. ABN AMRO, Albert Heijn, Capgemini, IBM, KPN, Philips, PwC, Randstad, Schiphol Group and Sligro Food Group are all involved and offer manpower, knowledge and experience. They also enroll in producing events and publicity.
